Guidelines
Submissions deadline for the debut volume of [Word]: A Journal of Canadian Poetry has passed. Check back in the following year for more information on our second volume.
General
In order to be eligible to submit for the debut issue of [Word], applicants must currently be a resident of Canada and the right owner for the poems enclosed. We purchase one time North American anthology rights. Reprints are considered, while original work is preferred. Please query at the e-mail provided if needed.
[Word] accepts all kinds of poetry regardless of theme, form, or genre. We accept anything from horrifying narrative tales remniscient of Edgar Allen Poe to romantic sonnets remniscient of William Shakespere and anything in between.
Format
Submissions should be presented in normal manuscript format as seen here. Include name, address, telephone number, line count and poem title on top of the first page of each poem with Name and Page Count on each page thereafter. Include a maximum of one poem per page and include a minimum of three poems per submission. Please include a cover letter and a well constructed Author biography.
Payment
Due to a limited budget for the debut volume of [Word], poets will be paid a token payment of $3 CAN per poem. As future editions of [Word] are released, this payment should be increased.

Electronic Submissions
While discourged, we are currently considering Electronic Submissions. Electronic Submissions should be attached as a .doc file and e-mailed to submissions@journalofcanadianpoetry.com. Submissions should include the subject line "Submission: [Author Name]", and include brief cover letter and biography in the e-mail's body.
